LTD was set up by Thomas George to do one thing properly: traditional roofing and leadwork on buildings that deserve it. Most of the housing stock across Berkshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire and the wider Thames Valley predates modern roofing entirely, Victorian slate terraces, Edwardian clay-tiled semis, timber-framed cottages, converted farm buildings and conservation-area streets where the roof is a large part of what the street looks like. Those roofs fail differently from a 1990s estate roof, and they need different answers. A nail-sick slate roof is not fixed by replacing individual slates forever. A lead valley that has split from thermal movement is not fixed with mastic. A chimney that has been cement-flashed instead of lead-flashed will keep soaking the wall below no matter how many times someone repoints it. Getting these buildings right takes materials that match, details that allow movement, and people who have done it before. We work almost entirely in that space, and we are equally happy on a straightforward modern repair when the same standard of work is wanted. Lead is dressed on the roof rather than folded to a template. Ridge and hip tiles are bedded and pointed properly, not smeared over. It is slower, and it is the reason the work lasts. ### Photographic evidence, every time You should never have to take a roofer's word for what is happening 10 metres above your head. Every inspection and every leak investigation comes with a photographic report of what we found and what we did about it. ### Fixed prices, in writing We quote a fixed figure for the work described.
